ABOUT US
As a family company, we can look back on a long tradition: the Schaeffs have been in business since 1596. We have gained experience on many levels, have founded, managed, enlarged, bought and sold companies. Our activities are not limited to Germany - we operate worldwide.
We invest in companies with our own private capital. In addition, we also actively provide management capacities: You and your company benefit from our expertise in all aspects, including purchasing and material flow. We know the "business" of a manufacturing company from our own experience and therefore know what we are talking about. If you wish, we can take a fundamental look at your activities, but we can also optimize just a few areas if necessary. In all of this, we always have a clear line in mind and consistently pursue the goals discussed.
HHISTORY
The Schaeff family has been operating hammer forges at various locations in Franconia since the end of the 16th century - we can therefore look back on a long entrepreneurial tradition. In the middle of the 19th century, Leonhard Schaeff took over the hammer mill near Hornberg (Kirchberg/Jagst). At first he expanded the business, but soon found himself struggling to survive: the increasing competition from industrially manufactured products made life difficult for the blacksmith. In 1920 the family reoriented themselves and started trading and repairing agricultural machinery in Sulzdorf (Schwäbisch Hall).
Karl Schaeff Sr. moved to Langenburg. There he opened an agricultural machinery and industrial workshop in 1937. After 1945, activities changed to the industrial manufacture of construction machinery: The company, which most recently had around 1,700 employees worldwide, built excavators, wheel loaders, material handling and tunneling machines, and forklifts. In 2001, the group of companies was sold to the US Terex Group. Since 2002 we have been involved in high-tech companies in mechanical engineering and are active in management consulting.
